Three out of the box ways to get new copywriting clients

Are you done banging your head against the wall struggling to make ends meet? Have you tried everything you know to attract new clients and just aren't getting the results you desire?
It's time to try something a little bit different. Let's take a look at three effective marketing techniques businesses use that copywriters tend to pass-by.
- Use flyers. Buy a small, plastic, stand-alone brochure holder and put some of your brochures or flyers in them. Ask a business owner in a similar business if you can put them on their counter. Try to find places your target market goes -- think lunch outlets in a business area, chiropractic offices, fitness club, a nail salon. Be creative.
- Hold an "open house" where you are available for consultations and networking. Promote this through your chamber of commerce, on your website, or through a direct mail campaign. Host the open house somewhere physical, such as at the chamber, or hold a teleconference where you are available to answer questions.
- Create a gift certificate and hand them out to businesses in your area. The gift certificate can be for a marketing/copywriting consultation or for $100 off a sales letter. You decide what works for you. Make the certificate appealing enough to attract new clients to come to you.
These are just three easy and affordable ways to market your copywriting business. If you are stuck in a rut and not making the money you know you can be, I suggest you step out of your comfort zone and do something different. If you want different results you need to take different actions! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results – it just doesn't happen magically.
